Donkey Kong vs Regigigas

Donkey Kong info:

Height: 6 foot 1 (knuckle walking) 7 foot 10 (fully upright)

Weight: 800lbs

Weapons: Bare Hands, Coconut Shooter, Anything he can grab

Strengths: Arguably one of the strongest Nintendo characters and maybe even on par physically with Bowser (they have never canonically fought so it’s unclear which of them is physically stronger) able lift thousands of tons and even knock the moon out of orbit with a single punch as well as punching several much larger opponents clear out of the atmosphere in the past, Extreme durability (able to withstand countless attacks, survive in the vacuum of space and even survived re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere without even being singed), Can create thunder claps so loud they redirect projectile Weapons and can even suppress fire breathing, Is remarkably fast for his size and can punch so fast his fists ignite the hydrogen in the air creating small explosions to amplify his punches, Is completely immune to mind control (although it is hinted that he is simply so stupid that no one can control his tiny brain).

Weaknesses: Easily one of Nintendo’s dumbest characters to the point that even simple concepts go over his head, Despite having impossible strength simply restraining his arms can suppress his power, Strangely if someone were to shave his head he loses his strength completely (likely a nod to Samson), Is immensely lazy to the point that the only thing that inspires him to put his full effort into anything is a threat on his banana pile.

Regigigas info:

Height: 12 foot 2

Weight: 925lbs

Weapons: Bare Hands, Large move pool

Strengths: Extremely high Physical attack, High Physical and Special defence, Can command other Pokémon including the other Regi’s (won’t come into factor with this fight because of ‘no outside help’ rule), Immensely strong (able to hold back a massive glacier with the help of a herd of Mamoswine and allegedly on its own towed the continents to their current positions though this could be merely legend), Can manipulate the elements and can create sentient beings from them (creating the lesser Regi’s from Rock, Steel and Ice), Can interact and harm incorporeal beings via Foresight, Is completely immune to Ghost Type attacks, Can survive the heat of magma and the cold of the most frigid ice.

Weaknesses: Weak to Fighting Type attacks, Pitiful Special attack, Average speed, Its Slow Start ability cripples its attack and speed for a long time from the start of the battle.

Battle begin!

Donkey Kong hummed to himself happily as he headed towards his latest banana stash pile after the last one had been destroyed by King K.Rool, his arms full of countless bunches of his favourite fruit to add to his stash for later consumption.

Happy with his latest haul he added the bunches to the pile before turning around to collect more, barely making it a few steps before….

SPLAT!!!

Freezing in place as his eyes went wide with shock at the sound of the heavy footstep and squashing fruit, the Gorilla slowly turning around before gasping in horror as he found his precious bananas now nothing more than a yellow splatted paste on the ground under the foot of a huge black and white Golem.

Feeling something squash under its foot Regigigas looked down with a rumbling groan lifting its foot to find the destroyed banana pile before looking back up at the now visibly angry Donkey Kong, taking the Gorillas grunts and whoops along with him beating his chest as a threat the Golem’s eyes glowed bright red as it readied itself for a fight.

With another howl of rage Donkey Kong slammed his fists to the ground with enough force to propel him forward, creating a small shockwave which shook the ground beneath him as he launched himself at Regigigas bringing both fists down upon the Golem’s ‘face’.

Because of its Slow Start ability making its movements sluggish Regigigas was unable to defend itself from Donkey Kong’s attack, the huge Golem stumbling as its entire body shook from the force of the Gorilla’s fists.

Setting its feet to stabilize itself Regigigas raised its massive arms before bringing them down in a Heavy Slam attack, its fists glowing as they took the quality of steel only for DK to jump out of the way before the attack connected causing the Golem to split the ground beneath it.

Flipping through the air before landing on his feet DK drew his Coconut Shooter and turned to open fire upon the Golem, the projectiles bouncing off of Regigigas’s huge bulk with minimal damage whilst the Golem recovered from its own attack, its Slow Start steadily fading away but not fast enough to allow Regigigas to move at its true speed.

When he realised his Coconut shooter was doing barely any damage to the Golem Donkey Kong outright threw it at Regigigas to which the Wooden ‘Gun’ shattered into splitters upon the Legendary’s face. Groaning in more annoyance than pain Regigigas began to generate electricity through its body before focusing it in its fist to charge a Thunder Punch, the Golem lumbering forward and slamming its fist forward only for Donkey Kong to dodge again causing the electricity to dissipate into the ground.

Rushing around the Golem Donkey Kong slugged it hard in the back making it lurch forward before it spun around with another Thunder Punch only to miss again, then again, and again.

With every punch that ended up in the dirt the ground got more and more cracked and displaced which eventually worked in Regigigas’s face as DK ended up tripping when he ran around the Golem again, the Gorilla far too focused on attacking the Golem rather than watching where he was going sending him tumbling across the ground before smashing his head against a tree so hard it collapsed on top of him.

Getting back up DK staggered for a moment seeing stars as his head throbbed from the impact with the tree before quickly shaking it off, the Gorilla standing to face Regigigas again only to receive a chilling Ice Punch to the face the moment he turned around, the Golem’s fist being so cold that it literally froze him solid.

With DK frozen in ice Regigigas reeled its fist back again igniting it in flame for a Fire Punch before slamming it down straight in Donkey Kong’s face, shattering the ice that encased him as well as forcing him to the dirt.

With DK down Regigigas reeled his fist back reigniting it whilst setting its other fist aflame as well before beginning to rain down crushing burning blows straight to the Gorilla’s head. Each punch making the ground shake as Donkey Kong was forced deeper and deeper into the dirt with every hit as well as singing his face and fur.

Punching Donkey Kong deeper into the earth Regigigas then stepped back and raised one of its massive feet to finish the Gorilla off with a curb stomp only for DK’s arm to snap up to catch the Golem’s foot stopping it dead in its tracks.

Heaving himself out of the hole the Gorilla then reeled his free fist back winding it up to build up as much power as he could into it before lunging forward to sock Regigigas straight in the ‘face’ with a vicious left hook. The force of his fists impact being enough to create a huge shockwave between them rocking the Golem to the core before sending it flying several dozen feet into the air before coming crashing down with enough force to shake the earth.

As soon as Regigigas hit the dirt Donkey Kong was upon it, the Gorilla beginning to slam his palms down upon its face with force that mimicked his punches. With every slap from DK’s large hands the ground shook under Regigigas, cracking and splintering along with the gems that aligned the great Golem’s front as DK put more and more power into the hits to the point that his entire island began to shake.

With every hit it took however Regigigas felt its power building up inside, its Slow Start finally coming to an end. With its true power filling its power the Golem let out a defiant cry and launched its arm at Donkey Kong, catching the Gorilla off guard with a Crush Grip.

Grunting in surprise as his arms were suddenly bound to his sides Donkey Kong thrashed wildly trying to escape only to find that he couldn’t call upon his strength with his arms restrained leaving him completely at Regigigas’s mercy as the Legendary charged up a Payback attack.

Holding Donkey Kong up with one hand Regigigas struck the Gorilla hard with the other returning the force of every attack DK had landed on it and then some sending him flying up into the air and quickly out of sight, the Gorilla being thrown so far from the force of the hit that he soon broke through the atmosphere and did not stuck until he struck the moon hard enough to make it shake in its orbit.

Having landed on his head DK took a few moments to pull his head out of the moon rocks before righting himself to dust himself off. Taking a few glances around he realised that he was no longer on his island anymore and looking up at the Earth made him realise he wasn’t even on the planet anymore.

Furious that he had been forced into space Donkey Kong stamped his feet in a rage as steam shot out of his ears, the Gorilla getting so angry that he slammed his fists down to the ground making the entire moon shake again as crack ran along the rocks.

Striking the ground a few more times Donkey Kong then reeled his fist back winding it up for an extremely powerful punch, slamming his fist to the moon’s surface with enough force that he literally displaced it from its orbit sending it straight on a collision course with Earth.

Back on Terra Firma Regigigas was making its way away from Donkey Kong’s island, using its Earth manipulation abilities to raise a path for itself from the ocean floor to prevent it from having to walk along the ocean floor. When it had made it roughly half a mile away from the island however the Golem turned back as it noticed the sky turning red, looking up to find the very moon coming down straight at it.

Shocked at what was happening Regigigas still raised its hands to try to hold the moon off as it made contact with him, the Golem raising the ground beneath him higher in its attempt to hold off the nine quadrillion ton mass of rock.

Donkey Kong however was not making it easy for the Golem however as the Gorilla proceed to slam his palms against the moon’s surface, making the entire thing shake and crack as Regigigas struggled to hold it aloft, its arms straining as the gems that lined its front cracked and splintered more before eventually shattering making the Legendary groan loudly with pain.

With every blow DK delivered the moon cracked more and more until finally the Gorilla wound out another powerful punch, delivering it to the moon with enough force that the entire thing shattered into countless pieces whilst the Gorilla continued straight through it heading straight towards Regigigas whilst the Golem stumbled from the suddenly loss of weight upon its shoulders leaving it wide open to DK’s attack.

When the Gorilla’s fist made contact there was no way for the Golem to defend itself, letting out another loud groan of pain before swiftly going silent as its ‘face’ gave way from Donkey Kong’s punch, the Gorilla continuing until he burst straight through the Golem’s back leaving a gaping hole straight through the Legendary, its red eyes becoming blank as it staggering for a moment before following off of its earth structure to land lifeless in the water below.

Landing hard on the structure Regigigas had created Donkey Kong took several deep breaths to calm himself before throwing his head back with a cry of victory, the Gorilla savagely beating his chest in celebration of avenging his precious banana pile.

Winner: Donkey Kong

A battle that I had been requested quite a while back I found this idea too interesting to pass up as Donkey Kong and Regigigas are two extremely powerful characters who could be literally too OP to function if not for their glaring weaknesses, Donkey Kong’s lack of intelligence and Regigigas’s Slow Start ability.

Putting these two against each other though I had to side with Donkey Kong as to me he is stronger than Regigigas (the Legendary’s continent towing feat is just a legend and has yet to be cemented as canon) and is arguably more durable as he survived an explosion that sent him to the moon without injury, survived the vacuum of space without freezing to death or suffocation and then casually survived re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere using the moon to ride his way down.

Regigigas itself is no slouch however and when its Slow Start ability wears off it becomes easily one of the most powerful Pokémon in existence but even with its extremely high Physical attack stat it pales in comparison to Donkey Kong’s raw strength as its greatest strength feat canon wise is holding off a glacier with help from a herd of Mamoswine, Donkey Kong on the other hand displaced a nine quadrillion ton moon with a single punch making the Gorilla hundreds if not thousands of times stronger than the Golem.
