Battle begin!

The people of Pacifilog Town was in near hysteria as another Swimmer came back with his Pokémon suffering from near life threatening injuries, the Gyarados having had both of its whiskers bitten off along with long gashing Claw marks running along its body and even one of its sails had had a huge chunk bitten out of it. For over a fortnight now this had been happening, the bodies of wild Pokémon floating to the surface on a daily basis with damage that no known Ocean Pokémon had been known to leave, not even the wild Sharpedos and Carvahnas were able to leave such injuries on their prey.

As the Gyarados was pulled onto the floating town to receive medical treatment none of the town’s folk knew that it’s attacker was still hunting it, deep beneath the water the huge Sea Serpent waited for the perfect moment to strike. Being a staggering near eighty feet long the Lagaicrus was the largest creature Hoenn’s oceans had even seen and from the moment it ended its waters it was top predator, fee to take its fill of the Wild Pokémon.

Slowly rising closer to the surface the Lagiacrus noticed the surface of the water beginning to ripple with heavy rainfall but thought nothing of it, the prospect of another meal dominating its mind leaving it completely blind to the other large shape swimming about one hundred metres below it. Waiting until it saw the shadows of people over the water the Lagiacrus rushed towards the surface to strike, breaking out of the water with a feral roar it lunged towards the terrified citizens of the floating Town.

Before its jaws could reach its intended prey though another huge shape burst from the water’s surface, the Town’s peoples fear turning to relief as Kyogre latched its jaws on the side of the Lagiacrus’s neck dragging it away from them and back under the water, the Sea Serpents feeding habits having greatly angered the Ocean King and now it was going to avenge its inhabitants.

Driving the Lagiacrus back into the depths Kyogre let go of it to swim away, swiftly circling the Serpent proving that despite being over 50 feet shorter than the Lagiacrus it was far from intimidated by the Serpents size rushing in to ram into it from the side. Easily shrugging off the dull blow the Lagiacrus quickly swam after Kyogre snapping at the Whale Pokémon narrowly grazing its fangs against the thick blubber on its fins as the Legendary snapped to a side to avoid the bite.

Diving deeper Kyogre then made a U-turn to rush straight upwards at the Sea Serpent showing impressive speed for its bulk hitting the Lagiacrus in the face with a punishing Double Edge attack, hitting it with such velocity that it bruised itself from the impact. Reeling from the blow the Lagiacrus spun around wildly as Kyogre swam around again, this time firing an Ice Beam at the Sea Serpent, the stream of concentrated cold energy hitting the Serpent on its lower half encasing most of its hind legs in thick ice.

Shrieking at the piercing cold that covered its hind legs the Lagiacrus rushed towards a nearby rock face slamming its own body against it in an attempt to break the ice off whilst Kyogre took chase after it. Swimming up to the Serpents neck Kyogre bit down on it again shaking wildly in an attempt to bite out the Monsters throat but found the Lagiacrus’s scales to be too tough to fully sink its teeth into.

As Kyogre bit down on it the Lagiacrus began to thrash hard slamming its lower body harder against the rocks to shatter the ice that covered it, as it struggled to shake the Whale Pokémon off the Sea Serpent began to generate electricity through its scales emitting a powerful static shock hitting Kyogre hard before it could react.

Screeching in pain from the electrical attack Kyogre immediately broke away from the Lagiacrus diving deeper to get out of range of the lightning it was giving off. As Kyogre tried to swim away it felt the Lagiacrus latch its jaws around its tail making it wail from both the pain of its fangs and the electricity that coursed through them. Blood began to stain the water as the Legendary thrashed to free itself from the Lagiacrus’s hold, a large chunk of its left tail fin being left begin as Kyogre finally tore free, the Legendary immediately swimming around to blast the Sea Serpent with a powerful Hydro Pump releasing a torrent of water from its mouth to strong that it tore effortlessly through the water around it without diluting the attack.

Recoiling from the hit the Lagiacrus spun wildly before righting itself and making a break for the surface, Kyogre’s attack having knocked the air it had been holding in its lungs forcing the Sea Serpent to surface or risk drowning whilst the Legendary once again took chase. Bursting out of the water the Lagiacrus quickly clambered onto a nearby sand bank conveniently large enough to hold the Monsters size enough to avoid Kyogre.

Breaking the surface itself Kyogre found itself at an impasse as the sand bank was too large for it to safely attack the Lagiacrus without beaching itself in the process. Both Beasts stared each other down as the torrential rain poured down upon them as if daring the other to make the first move, Kyogre steadily circling the sand bank submerging every so often to try to get the jump on the Lagiacrus.

Eventually Kyogre tired of waiting first lunging from the water to snap at the Lagiacrus’s tail in an attempt to drag it back into the water only for the Serpent to retract its tail causing the Whale Pokémon to land hard on the sand bank completely beaching itself. Realizing its mistake the Legendary began to thrash around desperately trying to get back into the water whilst the Lagiacrus skulked towards it realizing that it was helpless now. With a loud roar the Lagiacrus lunged forward narrowly avoiding the Hydro Pump Kyogre fired in an attempt to defend itself proceeding to wind its long body around the beached Legendary and squeeze tight.

With the Legendary in its grasp the Lagiacrus clamped its jaws upon Kyogre’s head digging its fangs as deep into the blubber as it could before starting to emit powerful electrical shocks again electrocuting the Ocean King whilst it struggled and wailed.

Thrashing harder as the electricity coursed through its body Kyogre then began to slowly weaken, Lagiacrus being nowhere near its mouth meant that it couldn’t attack back and the constant shocks it suffered made its vision begin to fail. Slowly the Whale Pokémon’s struggles got weaker and weaker as the Lagiacrus constricted tighter and tighter, the sound of the Legendries bones creaking and crunching beginning to emit from its body as the rain got lighter, the people of Pacifilog only able to watch in horror as the Ocean Kings life slowly slipped away.

That was until a bright blue light began to shine in the sky in the distance from the peak of Mount Pyre, the Blue Orb glowing upon its pedestal as if activated by Kyogre’s peril. The Orb activating something inside of the Legendary as it shone bright enough to break the clouds making Kyogre’s eyes and markings glow as well.

With renewed vigour Kyogre let out a thunderous cry as its body glowed brighter than the sun, blinding the Lagiacrus enough to make it release its jaws and unravel slightly as the Legendary began to grown in its grasp, growing to more than twice its original size and bulk, its skin turning a deeper shade of blue whilst its markings glowed a bright yellow and the markings on its two fins changed to become the Alpha symbol.

Now in its grander Primal Form Kyogre slammed its right fin on the sand back using the impact to jostle itself to a side hard enough to roll back into the water dragging Lagiacrus with it into the depths. Now back in the ocean Kyogre was free to move freely biting down on the Serpents tail as it lashed at its face, making the Lagiacrus screech with pain and release its grip. Having once again lost the air in its lungs the Lagiacrus made a break for the surface again with Kyogre in hot pursuit, the Legendary easily catching up and beginning to swim in tight fast circles around the Serpent to summon a Whirlpool.

Caught in the violent currents the Lagiacrus was violently spun around in the Whirlpool, trapped beneath the surface as it thrashed trying to break free to breathe. Swimming beneath the Lagiacrus again Kyogre then rushed up at it bursting through the Whirlpool to clamp its jaws on the Serpents throat, biting down hard as it used its new superior strength to continue to the surface dragging the Sea Serpent with it.

Upon breaking the surface of the water Kyogre continued up until it had jumped several dozen feet into the air before back flipping to throw the Lagiacrus up high into the sky. As it fell the Legendary flipped over again until it was facing the Lagiacrus opening its maw to charge and fire its strongest move, Origin Pulse, generating several blue orbs of energy around its head before shooting them up at the falling Sea Monster.

As it fell the Lagiacrus was defenceless against the Origin Pulse, only able to roar in pain as its body was barraged and torn apart by the attack, its thick scales and muscles tearing away from its body revealing its bones beneath and before it could hit the water one last orb tore through its back and shattered its spinal cord clean in half.

As its opponent hit the water Kyogre sunk below the surface read to continue attacking only to find that it didn’t have to, the Lagiacrus’s corpse simply sinking slowly with blood pouring from the many blast holes that covered its body, its jaws still wide open in a silent roar as it steadily disappeared into the dark depths below. Satisfied that its oceans were safe again Kyogre reverted back to its original form before silently retreating back to its basin home, the violent rain storm calming above to show that the battle was over.

Winner: Kyogre

Now this one was a difficult one to write as since Lagiacrus and Kyogre are both ocean dwelling creatures their range of movement was difficult to write out. When it came down to it though it was almost an easy decision on the winner.

Lagiacrus’s only advantage it had over Kyogre was its sheer size and length easily dwarfing Kyogre at nearly 100 feet long compared to the Legendries barely 40 feet at its largest. Despite its smaller size Kyogre had the advantage in near every other category, mainly in how much of a tank it is and its large move pool compared to Lagiacrus’s very limited range of attacking. As well as that its Primal Reversion Evolution made it so that despite Lagiacrus getting the upper hand at first it eventually didn’t stand a chance.
